And a Happy Christmas to You

There is such a huge lead up to Christmas. With all the hustle and bustle of the shops, pressies galore and making sure that supplies are in check because my goodness the shops are going to be closed for ONE WHOLE DAY!

My side of the family always celebrate Christmas Eve, a Polish tradition which actually suits us perfect as our Christmas day entails, opening more pressies at home, Ethan going to spend Christmas day at his dads and after that our house is open to whoever wants to pop in for some Christmas cheer aka food, wine and music!

  Funny photo

It was my little niece’s first Christmas and as we are quite a loud bunch, poor Bonnie had no chance of sleeping. Especially with her cousins (my boys) running mad around the place, people talking, eating, drinking and having a great time. I tell you what, I take my hat off to my little sister, 4 weeks ago she had a baby, and rocking up to Christmas , presents in tow and looking so fabulous - I know I wouldn't have been able to be so organised!

Sisters xmas eve

Jack had had no sleep ALL DAY – I need to emphasise this as the entire afternoon he was either connected to Steve or I and by 8.30pm complete over tiredness kicked in and feral Jack arrived. Got to love a toddler! Omg help me.

I attempted my first trifle, a classic traditional Christmas desert. After watching 10 YouTube videos,  I had a crack at it (who knew that jelly was so easy to make!) and I tell you what, it was bloody delish! Nom Nom… and still eating the leftovers today…Martha Stewart eat your heart out! Ok, maybe not Martha Stewart as I have a mouth on me like Gordon Ramsey - but you get where I'm going with this.

  Trifle

This little guy got spoilt crazy! Is it just me of is this selfie just the best? Peppa had to get into the photo – his new obsession – my new hate. Peppa crazy in this household – I am over Peppa Pig.

After Nanna’s visit Christmas morning and Ethan off to his dad’s for the day, little Jack lasted a few hours and crashed for a nap. So I had been making a feast Christmas lunch and with just the two of us, Steve and I enjoyed a quiet yet extravagant spread of roast pork, roast vegies, ham oh and more trifle. Did I mention more trifle? A date for two, on Christmas Day.

  Xmas for 2

I am so thankful for the year that we have had. I am thankful for my little family and all of my friends near and far.

I started my blog earlier this year as a form of therapy, expression and a way to document my life, with my children, what we are up to, Autism awareness and it has slowly and organically grown to a little community.

To all of you that come around to have a read – thank you.

To everyone that follows a bit of bliss and mayhem on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – thank you.

This is not a perfectly polished blog, you will find me blurting random stuff out and dropping the occasional but well needed f bomb. This is me. Warts and all and I cannot thank you enough.

Do not write blog post when you have had a couple of wines

It's been a bad day.  Not a travesty, but a day of anxiety, overload of emotions, countless puffs from many a ciggies and all in all just a bleh.  Where the fuck has 2020 gone? How did we get from free world to lockdown and oppressions and wearing masks???? I  burnt my 2020 planner, close with my 2020 diary, because why the fuck, hey? Let's just write this year off as a mistake on a humanity scale and start fresh in 2021.  Funnily enough, I bought a $4 2021 diary. So there may be hope. My beloved is struggling. Which  means that I am struggling, Seeing him in pain, no sleep, swelling joint agony, depression and all the things that entail chronic illness. I'm at a loss as to how to help him, I just sit and be with him and tell him every day that i will be by his side till the rest of my days.  At least 2020 has shown us this: What actually is important in our life, What actually matters, like really really matters,  The latest model car o...

Is it Saturday or Sunday?

It is just before 6am as I sit here on my back porch watching the sun slowly rise for another day. What day is it? #isolyf has got me all confused to the day, date and month. With so many of us wishing and wanting “more time”, I have found myself getting bored of being bored and the motivation bug seems to come in slower and less frequently. How the world has changed in the unprecedented times, hey? It seems that here in #straya, we have quickly adapted to the powers that be and in the matter of weeks have become accustomed to the lack of interaction and movement. Does that concern you? How quickly we have been able to conform? I had to delete Facebook off my phone a few weeks ago as I was constantly checking #scomo and Googling “coronavirus” every other minute. The information overload brought on confusion as well as fear and I was working around feeling like doomsday was coming. The best thing that I did was switch off. The establishment news was only regurgitating stupidity ...

Tyranny, Censorship, Fear and Questions

This post will most likely be banned on any social media accounts I share to. Censorship has been coming in hard and clear – even more so in the past few months. While I have been indulging myself in all seasons of Gossip Girl, Tiger King and Real Housewives of Anywhere, I have also been digging deep with the help of some like minded souls into Science Censorship, Liberty stealing and heart wrenching conformance that has been occurring around the globe. In many ways, 2020 for my little family has been positive. Deleting the last few days of a polar blast over the southern states of Australia bringing Winter overnight with freezing, blizzard winds and rain that was howling sideways over the rooftops. Other than that, we have had some wins here. When #Covid19 came to light – I had my fingers peeled on Google repeat. I was watching every single news article I could find, hitting refresh on all the latest updates on Facebook, the big five News establishments as well as TV. It was ...
